Who is eligible to signup?

If your child is in 5th through 12th grade, public, private or homeschooled, your child is eligible.


Registration does not imply that the student has been accepted into the JAM Program. You will be contacted if we need additional information or missing information.

Registration for School Year 2026-2027 will open August 1st 2026, and close August 31st 2026.
We're looking forward to getting started!

September 30th is first JAM session for Tellico Plains and October 1st for Madisonville.

We're going to do things a little different this year. Instead of a letter of recommendation, we're going to have a month long honeymoon/probation for the first four weeks of JAM. We'll evaluate each student and parents will monitor their children to determine if they will benefit by continuing after the first four weeks. Historically, we've lost most of those who decide JAM isn't for them or their children after the first month. This will go both ways.

We're also adding the mandolin class again. Check the calendar page for details about Orientation.

We loan instruments as we are able, and new students entering JAM are given priority for loaner instruments, but if you wish to purchase one for your child, we've made a file with links to the instruments we recommend. Violins are especially hard to buy, and there are very few of the cheaper ones that are playable. Don't waste money by buying without advice. I'm always willing to show you the good instruments and explain why the $150 violin is rarely a good buy. Don't be caught in the trap of the flea market salesman, or even Amazon. Reviews do not reflect the quality of the instrument.

We recommend that you use a computer to fill out the registration form.
You may try with your phone, but a computer makes it easier.
